Questions We Hear at the Counter
We're a daytime walk-in shop in Greenwood, open Mon–Fri, 9–12 and 1–5:30 (closed 12–1 for lunch), closed Sat/Sun. Bring your key, lock, or cylinder in and we'll handle it at the counter. Here are the questions we get most.
Frequently asked questions
Do I bring it in, or do you come to me?
Bring it in. We're a walk-in shop, not mobile and not 24/7. For most key and lock work, carrying the key, lock, or cylinder to the counter is the quickest way to get it done.
What are your hours?
Mon–Fri, 9–12 and 1–5:30. We close 12–1 for lunch. Closed Saturday and Sunday. 100 NW 85th St, in the Greenwood Fred Meyer parking lot.
Can you copy a key the grocery store or hardware-store machine couldn't?
Often, yes. Odd, older, and special keys that big-box self-serve machines and grocery kiosks get wrong are our everyday work. We cut keys in-shop and check the copy by hand. Bring your working key.
Do you cut car keys?
Yes, when you have a working original. We cut and copy car keys and rekey car door, trunk, and ignition cylinders to match your key, right in the shop. Call first with your year, make, and model.
What if I have no working car key at all?
For all-keys-lost transponder, chip, and push-to-start jobs, you'll need a dealership. Call us first and we'll tell you which it is before you make the drive.
I just moved in. Should I rekey?
Good idea. Rekeying changes the pins so old keys stop working, which usually costs less than new hardware when previous owners, agents, or contractors may still have a key. Bring the lockset, and a working key if you have one.
Can you set all my locks to one key?
Yes, if the locks share a compatible keyway, we can rekey them so a single key opens every door. If one isn't compatible, we'll tell you up front and walk you through the options.
Do you sell locks and hardware?
Yes. We stock deadbolts, handlesets, and locks in the shop, and we install and upgrade door hardware. Bring the old hardware or your door measurements and we'll get you a price.
Do you do commercial work?
Yes. We handle keys, rekeying, and lock repair, upgrade, and installation for small commercial spaces, and we can set up master or single-key systems. Bring the cylinder or hardware for a quote.
